Traditional Metal Braces & Clear Invisalign Treatment

Smile

When it comes to correcting your bite, metal braces are not your only choice. Dennis J. Fry D.D.S, P.A has a wide range of orthodontic options available at our offices in Newfoundland or Kearny, New Jersey, including ClearCorrect and Invisalign treatment for children and adults. Other alternatives available include wireless braces, clear retainers, and clear braces.
Invisalign™
This is the clear alternative to metal braces and wires. For teens and adults, it is a quick and easy treatment that is within financial reach, since it doesn't cost any more than metal braces. The treatment takes about one year. More hygienic than braces, you can brush and floss regularly with Invisalign, which is much easier than keeping metal braces clean. For adults, the teeth are straightened by wearing a series of clear plastic aligners all the time, except when brushing, flossing, eating, or drinking anything other than water. The aligners are removable, so you can still eat all your favorite foods!

ClearCorrect
An excellent alternative to metal braces, these are custom-fit aligners that move your teeth a little at a time. Eventually this results in straight teeth. There are no wires and no brackets, just clear, convenient comfort with custom removable aligners. ClearCorrect is an option to straighten teeth affected by crowding, spacing, overjet, overbite, midline misalignment, and open bite. Dr. Fry will take impressions, photos, and X-rays to manufacture the custom aligners.
Emergency Tips:
  • Tooth Pain & Soreness
  • After initial placement/routine adjustments, this may be a result of tooth movement.
Tip: If pain continues, acetaminophen (Tylenol) or non-aspirin pain relievers can be taken.
Poking Wires
  • These are wires that stick into your cheek or irritate your gums.
Tip: Bend the wire using a pencil eraser or use a rolled-up piece of cotton. Our office may also provide wax you can place over the wire. As a last resort, cut the wire with a nail clipper.
Broken or Loose Braces
  • Sometimes, a band or brace may come off the wire.
Tip: Save it and call our office immediately so we can schedule a repair appointment.
Retainers
Tip: Beware of microwaves, napkins, and frisky animals.
Lost Separators
  • Separators that have been placed in between teeth may fall out.
Tip: Please contact our office to see if it needs to be replaced.
